Pretty accurately describes my state of being during an intense period of my life post-loony bin, post-art college in the early nineties with a keyboard, a clunky Atari computer and the wonder that is Cubase transforming my council flat into a 64 track recording studio. My skills were limited but wow, how I loved making these pieces in the dead of the night and recently found them on a dusty cassette in the cellar.
A cheap gadget allowed me to convert to MP3s, albeit with some weird clicks and blips, but it’s been great to hear them again and remember that time, which lead to playing keyboards in a band before accepting that I wasn’t going to be the next Tania Maria or electronic music genius and discovering that what I really wanted to do was write more than cringey journals. So, despite still playing the piano when the mood takes me, the muso muse died. But the tunes live on… Here are the best of a not entirely bad lot. Turn it up! 🙂
